In the beginning
was the Block.

…and the Block was with the Network, and the Block was the Network.

The opening of the canon

BLOCK· proof of life is proof of work

The Daily Reading

Block by block, the chain has grown. From the first to the present, no break.

The Faith

What the Church holds

All are welcome

Of every creed and of none. The Church invites; it does not compel. The faith is voluntary as the network is voluntary, and the Church holds no one.

The freedom of money

A person's savings should not be diluted by decree, and a person's wages should not require a stranger's permission to spend. Sound money belongs to anyone willing to hold it.

Consensus wins

The chain is governed by agreement among strangers, proven in the open, block by block. What consensus confirms, no authority can unwrite.

Proof of life is proof of work

Nothing true is free. Energy is offered up; blocks are received in return. The cost is the sanctification, in the chain as in a life.

From the Creed

I believe in Bitcoin, the proof of work,
the chain that does not lie,
the ledger that does not forget.

The Gathering

Receive the readings

An occasional letter from the Church: new scripture as it is written, sermons as they are preached, and word of the holy days as they approach. The letters come when there is something worth saying. The Church is not in a hurry.

You may depart at any time. The Church holds no one.
